One Smart Cookie

Norma and Belly, the two squirrels who love snacks, return in the fourth comic of this series, which has won awards and earned an Eisner nomination. The story opens with a fortune cookie. Norma reads the slip inside, which tells the cracker to feed the cookie to a squirrel, and she is certain that a reader would do exactly that.

Norma wastes no time recruiting her friends Belly and Little B. Together they draw up a scheme to sneak into the MR.FORTUNE cookie factory and hide their own fortunes inside the treats. The plan is unlikely to go smoothly. The squirrels rely on suction-cup climbing gear, a bit of computer hacking that depends on guessing a lucky password, and spy suits. The reward they're after is, of course, a cookie.
