It's the chaotic summer of 1968 and newlyweds George and Alice Martin's new family member has just arrived: a somewhat clumsy orphan sheepdog named Only, a pup with definite ideas about what he wants and how he should get it. A sensitive if uniformed observer, Only makes a striking impact on George and Alice's marriage, as he watches the family grow and stray in unforseen directions.
