Optimization and Decision Science

This volume gathers peer-selected papers from the ODS2020 conference, an international event on optimization and decision science that took place online on 19 November 2020. The Italian Operations Research Society, AIRO, organized the conference and the collection.

The chapters present new work on optimization, decision science and prescriptive analytics, approached both as theory and as practice. The authors draw on continuous and discrete optimization, graph and network methods, analytics, multiple criteria decision making, heuristics, metaheuristics and exact techniques. Several chapters are theoretical, while others build models and solution methods for practical problems in health care, transportation, logistics, the public sector, manufacturing and emergency management.

The book is written chiefly for researchers and doctoral students in operations research. Professionals who face complex decisions in the fields above will also find it useful, as will scholars in artificial intelligence, computer science, economics, mathematics and engineering.
