Ordinary Miracles

Mark Filkins has long held to the idea behind the title, Ordinary Miracles, though lately he feels he has been handed plenty he never asked for. Chief among these is the sense that he is a dimmer version of his twin brother, and his parents have already mapped out a future in which both boys become preachers.

Everything begins to shift when Mark meets Dr. Colin Hendrick, a scientist who has won the Nobel Prize and whose research his family looks upon with disapproval. Through this acquaintance Mark starts to see that he has both the right and the responsibility to make his own choices.

Then Colin confides a dreadful secret, and Mark understands that the moment has come to ask for what matters most of all, even though doing so means putting his own faith at risk.
