Out There

Julia was not always a believer in extraterrestrials, but her father's arguments changed her mind. He is convinced that aliens abducted him, and ever since, he has been fixated on the beings he believes exist beyond Earth.

When the New Mexico town hosting a festival for the 75th anniversary of a famous UFO crash prepares for its celebration, Julia gives up a much-anticipated trip to Hawaii with her best friend, Sara. Instead, she joins her dad for a weekend in Roswell, where he expects the aliens to make contact. The festival is full of silly, alien-themed fun.

Amid the festival's absurdity, Julia starts to wonder whether her father was really abducted. His accounts of alien interference seem increasingly unreliable, and her trust in him weakens along with them. Will the weekend bring the two closer or drive them apart? The graphic novel explores family, loyalty, and how far people will go for the ones they love.
