Out There

This is the third and final installment of a trio of anthologies, following All Out and Out Now. It gathers seventeen original science fiction stories set in the future, all written by queer authors who write for teen readers. The premises vary widely. In one, a person's mind is transferred into a body on Mars. In another, an alien helps a girl work out whether to reveal her feelings to her best friend. Two teenagers find themselves trapped in a time loop aboard a space station.

Other stories imagine a dying planet whose people must escape into the past or the future. In one, only a nonbinary character can read the binary code of a machine that foretells what is to come. In another, every person on Earth disappears except for two teenage girls who are in love. Together the tales cover a broad range of futures and a wide spread of queer experiences.
