Packs

Packs is a full-color, richly illustrated picture book about animals that live together in packs, herds, pods and other groups. It looks at land, air and sea, where creatures gather in numbers from small bands to herds of millions, and shows how staying together and working as a team helps many of them thrive.

Hannah Salyer's selection of animals makes the case that teamwork is found everywhere, that biodiversity is full of ingenuity, and that numbers bring strength. The book draws a parallel between animal groups and human communities.

The book ends with an author's note encouraging community engagement and activism, and a playful visual index of all the animals featured.
