Pariah Genius

Pariah Genius is a work of fiction by Iain Sinclair built around the life of John Deakin, the photographer whose records of Soho life, and of the world of Francis Bacon and his friends, have shaped how later generations see that group's work.

Sinclair imagines his way into the underworld of Deakin's life and mind, producing a portrait of a man whom some regarded as a fallen angel and others as the devil himself.
