Pileaus

In the realm of Pileaus, immortal Fae snatch human musicians and bend them to their peculiar cravings. Elsewhere, a guileless girl discovers she can see the hidden secrets of everyone she meets, and a skyship pilot is lured far out over the ocean by a melody that no one else can hear. A pregnant woman turns to the kindly spirits of the forest to keep her child safe.

These tales unfold in a land of music, sorcery, and questions that never quite get answered. The Empire keeps pushing its borders outward, the bards pursue their own schemes, and the Fae carry on their endless games. Ordinary lives continue all the same, in countless small ways.

The stories ask what a land truly is and suggest that it is nothing more than its people, each small part joining the others until they sound together as one harmony.
