Plain Outsider

Becky Spoth was raised Amish, but she chose to leave that world behind and take a job as a deputy in the small town where she grew up. Her goal was to protect her neighbors, not to be the one who needs protecting. When someone begins stalking her with relentless persistence, she finds that almost no one takes the threat seriously.

Deputy Harrison James has recently arrived in town, and he is the only person who sees the danger she is in. Becky must now decide how far she can trust him, with her life depending on the answer. The story explores a woman standing between the faith and customs she was born into and the modern world she has chosen.
