Points in Time

Paul Bowles turns his attention to Morocco, compressing the experiences and emotions of a people, along with the long sweep of their past, into a sequence of brief sketches. Each short piece distills something of the country's cultural core. Moving forward through the centuries of Moroccan history, the author pauses at various moments to portray the land and its scenery, and the convictions and temperament of the people who live there.
