Present Danger

Jack Tanner left the FBI behind and now works as a detective in Montana. While taking part in a search and rescue operation, he finds a corpse in the national forest and sets out to hunt down whoever is responsible. The case puts him back in contact with Terra Connors, a US Forest Service special agent and his former love, and the two must work together.

When Terra learns that the dead man was connected to a ruthless dealer in stolen archaeological artifacts, the inquiry grows lethal and begins to strike close to home. Terra is unsure she has the nerve for what lies ahead, and Jack is resolved to keep her safe. He has let her down before, though, and another failure would cost them much more than their hearts.

Elizabeth Goddard, a bestselling and award-winning author, opens a new series here with a story built on concealed wrongdoing, direct threats, and old family secrets that have stayed buried for years.
