Prodigal
About This Book
The star system of Apollo has fallen. Its fleets are scattered across the stars, and the forces that defeated them are celebrating. Its last hope, it seems, is an exiled mercenary who is finally coming home.
Five years ago, ace pilot Kira Demirci slipped away from Apollo after her own government turned on her, with enemy assassins close behind. She got a squadron of starfighters out to the Outer Rim and built a mercenary fleet from old friends and new recruits alike. Many of the pilots who fought beside her in Apollo's war with Brisingr did not get out so easily.
Kira has found a place to call home, but a plot by her enemies has pulled her back toward the edge of her former territory. This close to Apollo, she learns that Brisingr has won its ultimate victory and captured her home. A star system should be impossible to take, yet the evidence is undeniable. With her family, friends and former comrades now held by the Brisingr Kaiserreich, Kira sends her mercenary fleet out to find the scattered remnants of Apollo's fleets and allies. Uniting those broken factions would be hard enough, but the harder truth is that Brisingr's triumph should never have happened. To undo it, Kira will have to repeat it.
