Queen's Blade

Children in the realm are warned to sleep and behave, or the Queen's Blades will come for them. The threat is a real one. The Queen's Blades are four assassins sworn to protect the Queen and the kingdom, and they deal swiftly with anyone who breaks the Goddess's edicts.

In this world, Witches are the favored Faction. A Witch sits on the throne, and the laws of the Eternal City give Witches far more than their share. Members of other Factions who object are likely to meet a violent end at the hands of the Blades.

Fey stands out even among them. As a Water Witch, she was meant for a life of healing, but violence has always come more naturally to her. The other three Blades, ruthless and savage Witches whom she proudly calls her sisters, love her all the more for it. Then one of the Blades is murdered, and Fey is drawn into a mystery that endangers the very system she swore to protect. Each clue she follows raises new questions about whom she can trust, what is being hidden from her and the other Blades, and who actually killed her sister.

The Queen's Blade is the first book in The Broken Blade trilogy, a dark romantasy series with adult themes. Readers are warned that it contains adult content, strong language and violence.
