Radiant King

Radiance, the mysterious power of life and creation, belongs to six immortal siblings who cannot be killed. For hundreds of years they ruled the world with ease, until their reign brought it close to ruin. Humbled, the six swore a vow: they would sit on no thrones, wear no crowns, and stop teaching humanity the gifts of radiance.

After centuries of peace, one of them, Eder, rejects the vow. He anoints himself Voice of Father and spreads a new, cruel faith across the land. His brother Faron cannot allow it. He comes back from a self-imposed exile, determined to crush Eder's kingdom. He is joined by Sariel, their cold and calculating brother, who knows well that the rule of the ever-living tends toward brutality and destruction.

Overthrowing a nation will take more than the two of them. They need an army, and a ruler who can take the throne their own vow forbids them to hold. They pledge themselves to the fanatical Bastard Princess, a woman with remarkable powers that she insists were given to her by the goddess Leliel. But Eder's conquest is not what it appears to be, and stopping an immortal who has heard the desperate plea of a god will take more than a holy war. This is the first book in an epic fantasy trilogy by David Dalglish.
