Random Island

Samarinda Lazenby, called Sami, has lived a varied life. As a small child she was held in a Japanese internment camp, her childhood was spent travelling the world with her father, and she later trained to become a surgeon. After her father's death, she took a job as Senior Surgical Officer on Random Island in the Pacific.

Her arrival quickly turns chaotic. A typhoon cuts the island off from ordinary transport, and Sami, knowing how urgently the people there need medical care, must rely on Captain James Bruce, a man who is attractive yet hard to read.
