Religion

Most people grow up hearing about Santa Claus, flying reindeer, an Easter bunny that lays eggs, and the tooth fairy, all of which are made up. The author asks whether those childhood falsehoods fade with age or simply grow larger. Politics, the author suggests, shows the same pattern, and the book then turns to religion, contending that Santa Claus and the Easter bunny are themselves tied to religious celebrations.

The author observes that after a lifetime of fiction, the actual truth can sound strange, and that truth is hard to accept for a variety of reasons. Still, the author holds that lies enslave while truth brings freedom, and this idea is the foundation of the compilation. The book presents itself as an introduction to Biblical and religious truth for readers willing to take on a challenging manuscript.
