Remain Alert

Remain Alert is Kate Sheeran Swed's newest collection of science fiction stories, ranging across the far reaches of the galaxy. Its opening note promises a first lesson in intergalactic mixology.

In Chosen, an intergenerational spaceship returns to Earth after a disaster. In Ugly Earthling, an ambitious chef tries to fry her way across the universe. In It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Usurps the Galaxy, a Supreme Galactic Emperor takes on an ambitious building project under dubious circumstances.

The stories mix absurdity with tragedy. Space travel is routine in their worlds, lost time can be recovered, and second chances are what let people survive.
