Resurrection

In 1976, 12-year-old Abby Drover was kidnapped on her way to school in quiet Port Moody, B.C. While her family and the police frantically searched for her, she was being held captive in an underground cell less than half a from the shattered safety of her own home. Over the next six months, Abby was raped, abused, nearly starved and more than once left for dead by her neighbor, Donald Hay -- a convicted sex offender, unbeknownst to the local police or members of the community. In a stunning climax, Abby was finally rescued after 181 days, severely malnourished and emotionally damaged. Resurrection tells the story of her ordeal and recovery as well as delving into the psychology of the man who inflicted such unimaginable horrors on her. -Google Books
