REWAS 2013

This collection grew out of the REWAS 2013 symposium, which was held as part of the TMS Annual Meeting. Its contributions examine how sustainability can be achieved across several fields, including transport, buildings and the built environment, electrical and electronic equipment and its infrastructure, power generation, and water systems.

The papers also address the enabling work behind these goals: how metals and materials are processed, how materials are recycled and recovered, and how processes are designed and modeled.

A central concern is understanding sustainability through life cycle management and analysis, systems modeling and design, and education and consumer awareness.
