Rhubarb

Eleanor Rigby is a small woman who cannot see, and her guide dog Warren, fiercely protective and always pulling ahead, steers her along the same familiar routes each day. Left behind by those around her, she has settled into a quiet life that feels closed off from the rest of the world, with a growing sense that her days are passing without going anywhere. Her life shifts when she hears music from Ewan Dempsey, a withdrawn man who builds cellos and plays them with obsessive devotion. The sound stirs something in her and prompts a sudden, uncharacteristic impulse.

The novel is written by Craig Silvey, an Australian author best known for Jasper Jones.
