About this book
The book showcases recent additions to the Ringier Collection, a contemporary art holding begun in 1995 by the Swiss publisher Michael Ringier. It ranks among the world's principal collections of present-day art.
Its pages trace the collection's activities across several areas: displays inside the company's corporate buildings, exhibitions in museums, and the annual reports that artists have designed since 1997, among them John Baldessari, Helen Marten and Rirkrit Tiravanija. The material combines printed matter, views of installations at work sites, and documentation of the holdings. Particular attention goes to works that are difficult to exhibit because of their scale or fragility.
Most of the works shown were acquired after 2008, following the publication of Blasted Allegories, the first book on the collection. Walid Raad, who conceived the Ringier Annual Report 2021, holds an extended conversation with Michael Ringier and Beatrix Ruf.
