RISE

Heaven and Hell are locked in a conflict that never ends, and mortal people are the instruments through which it is fought. Those who receive divine power, known as the Blessed, act for the gods. They hunt the Demon Seed relentlessly, with no room for pity, in a struggle that will decide what becomes of creation.

Ramora is a Warrior-Priestess who serves the God of War and cannot speak. In the Middle World, her purpose is to track down the Dark Blessed who destroyed everything she had. She is a Cleric who is fierce, strong and sharp-witted, and she wields a lost form of magic. She is also convinced she is more prepared for the battles ahead than she really is.

At her side is Chara, a farm girl whose mind works in an unusually quick and nimble way. Her future may ruin her, because Heaven is shaping her into a weapon unlike any other. As she faces absolute evil with nothing to rely on but her determination to hold her ground, the picture she has of herself and of the world falls apart. Together, the two set out to confront Hell and the most dreadful enemy the world has ever known.

The print edition alone includes images of the Divine Marks and Dark Marks, which appear in the appendix.
