Ritual, subtitled An Essential Grimoire, is a beginner-friendly collection of the magickal practices that Damien Echols and Lorri Davis consider most valuable. The authors, both practicing magicians, offer a broad selection of rituals, meditations and prayers meant to fit into ordinary daily life. Their central claim is that magick can support you in any area, from getting through everyday tasks to reaching your most cherished goals, and that you don't need to believe in it for it to work. All it takes is regular practice.

Echols says readers won't meet a lot of arcane terminology or long ceremonies here. The book instead offers simple practices for building your own connection to the energy and intelligence of the universe. It covers breath and concentration techniques for working with subtle energy, and grounding practices for clearing stagnant energies or thoughts from your body and surroundings. It also includes everyday meditations for better sleep and dreams, blessing food and inviting abundance, as well as on-the-spot practices for invoking protection, easing pain and anxiety, and finding goodness in difficult situations.

Further chapters show how to strengthen and reinforce ritual work with talismans, celestial forces and angel magick, and how ritual practice can advance spiritual evolution and openness to divine guidance. Personal stories from Echols and Davis describe how magick changed their lives.

The two turned to magick in their most trying years, first to help free Echols from his wrongful imprisonment, and afterward to heal from the trauma it left behind. Davis notes that many of these rituals are the ones they used to rebuild their lives, and they share them so readers can survive, thrive and create the life they want.
