Rob Roy MacGregor

The best-selling biography that inspired the film, here is the true story of Scotland's most romantic and allusive hero. The author illustrates the remarkable life of Rob Roy MacGregor, whose daring exploits made him a folk hero in his own country and who was commemorated in Sir Walter Scott's novel. Murray unveils the man behind the myth -- a man whose renown stems from his remarkable force of character rather than from his politics or his position in literature. His political mission failed outwardly, but his extraordinary resolution in adversity earned him a place in history and legend.
