Robotics Research

This volume gathers the proceedings of the seventeenth International Symposium on Robotics Research, known as ISRR15. The symposium has been one of the field's early forums and, across roughly twenty years, has helped shape some of robotics' core and enduring ideas.

The collection spans a wide range of robotics topics. Its chapters survey where the field stands today, covering theoretical foundations, underlying technology, and progress in both established and newer application areas.

Taken together, the contributions show a discipline that has matured and broadened in scope. The work offers a snapshot of the state of the art and points toward the direction robotics may take next.
