Rondine Method

The Rondine Cittadella della Pace is a residential peacebuilding community housed in its own village in Tuscany. This book examines the place and the program it runs for young activists who come from some of the most dangerous conflict zones in the world.

The program lasts two years and invites participants to live on site while earning a master's degree. Alongside academic study, they receive trauma healing and training in building peace. Students are paired with someone from the opposing side of the conflict they know, and together they design projects to carry out once they return home.

Roughly half of the volume presents the Rondine method in detail, as explained by its founder, Franco Vaccari. The other half offers essays that place this psycho-social approach to resolving conflict within its religious, psychological, and political background.
