Run, River, Run

As a teenager, River Chandler survived the serial killers who murdered her family. Her testimony sent them to prison for life. Years later she has built an independent, self-sufficient life, but memories of her loved ones are never far away. Then the threat that once hunted her returns and begins to target her again.

Kevin Slawter, a Special Forces medic, travels to Sanibel to visit friends and find some relief from the haunting images of the wounded men he has treated. While out on the water, he witnesses an attack on a woman on the beach. His shouts scare the assailant off, but the woman turns down any further help. Kevin resolves to uncover who is behind these attacks, which means persuading River to let him into her life. She has already lost everyone she cared about, and she is determined to keep people at a distance.
