Sanctuary

Andrew Hunter Murray, whose earlier novel The Last Day was a Sunday Times bestseller, returns with Sanctuary, a high-concept thriller. The story is set on a remote island called Sanctuary Rock, which belongs to a wealthy philanthropist trying to construct a new society out of what remains of the former world.

Ben travels to the island with one purpose: to collect his fiancée, Cara, and bring her home to the mainland. Once there, he is drawn in by the way of life that Sir John, the island's enigmatic and magnetic host, describes, and he soon decides to stay.

The island hides secrets far more troubling than Ben could have guessed. He also learns that the only route back to the mainland is about to close permanently, and that he may be in serious danger himself.
