Sarafina

At the height of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, three brothers in the Confederate army choose to desert. They would rather risk execution than die in a war they believe is lost, and they set out to make their way home.

After weeks of punishing travel over rough country, the brothers come upon something like a miracle deep in a dark forest: a homestead. A beautiful woman named Sarafina lives there in a remote cabin with her young son, Titus. She welcomes the soldiers, feeds them, and gives them somewhere to rest. The youngest brother is uneasy, though, because something about the place seems wrong. As the days pass he finds a strange creek and an underground cavern, and he grows convinced that the cabin and the fertile land around it are not what they appear to be.

The brothers soon face a new fight, as the horrors around them escalate and they must find a way to survive. This edition was a limited run of 750 copies.
