Saving Abby

Readers who believe in love at first sight may find a kindred spirit in this contemporary romantic suspense novel. Abby Knight was off to a promising start as a family physician until an abusive relationship forced her to abandon that path. Seeking a fresh start, she leaves the noise of city life for the slower rhythm of the countryside, joining her uncle's family practice in Peace Springs.

Her arrival is anything but smooth. An unseasonal snowstorm in May, a near miss with a moose, a pack of wolves, a rugged mountain man who comes to her rescue, a long trudge through the snow, and llamas that spit all greet her in quick succession. Still, the new beginning is exactly what she needs. Drake, the man who saved her, stirs feelings she has not known in years, a sense of calm she had nearly forgotten. Abby, however, has no interest in a new relationship. She wants to build her medical practice and, if she can, find a little peace along the way. Her wariness after surviving an abusive relationship does not stop a simmering attraction from growing between them.

Abby slowly learns that she can only find happiness in Peace Springs by confronting her fears and living in the moment. Then her past catches up with her, putting the life she has built at risk. Can she summon the strength to fight for what she wants and find true love after all?

Saving Abby is a sensual second chance romance with suspense at its core, featuring a protective hero and a sharp-witted, spirited heroine. The book was previously published in part as the novella Finding Peace, and it grew to three times its original length with significant additions to the storyline.
