Scorching

Across the Pacific Northwest, a string of enormous wildfires has taken hold and is burning beyond anyone's control. Hundreds of people have already died, and there is no sign the blazes will be contained. What makes the disaster especially frightening is that someone set these fires on purpose.

In Portland, Oregon, a terrorist sleeper cell has found a willing partner in a Forest Service smokejumper with a grievance. He is training their fighters, and the goal is to carry the destruction from coast to coast and set the entire country ablaze. Civilians trying to escape the flames are being murdered as they run.

Standing against the attackers is Cory Cantwell, a smokejumper with the Forestry Service. He assembles a crew of elite firefighters and sets out to stop the destruction, armed with Glock 19 pistols and heavy firepower instead of hoses. His methods are unforgiving. The novel comes from the team behind Black Friday, Home Invasion, and Knockdown.
