Scoring with Him

Scoring with Him opens Lauren Blakely's Men of Summer series. Its narrator has just reached the major leagues for the first time, and her only goal is to play ball. Her plans get complicated when she develops a strong attraction to Declan Steele, the shortstop on her team.

When Declan becomes her new workout partner, the two spend their mornings in the gym getting to know each other. Their connection grows quickly, perhaps because each is carrying secrets and old wounds they are determined to keep hidden. She has a troubled past she does not want following her into the present, but her longing for him keeps building. One night at spring training, she sends him a bold photo along with a direct question: would he be her first?

Falling for a fellow player was never part of her plan. The book is a romance between two professional athletes, following them over five years. The story continues in Winning With Him.
