Second Chance Ranch

Major Squire Ackerman has been injured and discharged after his deployment. He comes home to Three Rivers Ranch, eager to show he can run the cattle operation so that his parents can retire. The job is made harder by the fact that the ranch is missing 1.6 million dollars. To sort it out, Squire has to hire Kelly as his accountant, the same girl who turned down his invitation to the high school prom.

Kelly is back in town with her four-year-old son and is living in her parents' basement while she puts her life back together. Her divorce papers are barely dry and her heart is still raw, so she is not ready for much beyond her new job. Squire would like to forgive her for ignoring him a decade ago, and he wants to give her the stable life she needs. With old wounds reopening and the ranch close to financial collapse, a second chance between them will take patience and faith.

This is a clean, Christian western romance, with cowboy, military and second chance elements, plus some romantic suspense and mystery. Its themes include divorce, PTSD, forgiveness and acceptance, and it is set on a Texas ranch. It was written by Elana Johnson under the pen name Liz Isaacson, as her contemporary adult romance debut, and it is aimed at fans of Kimberly Krey, Becky Wade and Denise Hunter.
