Secret

Twenty-five-year-old narrator has grown up far from the spotlight that surrounds her family. Her father, actor and producer Luke Williams, kept her and her siblings away from the Hollywood scene: no premieres, no photographs, and no friendships with other stars' children. Now she is ready to take her first real step into adult life by joining his production company in downtown Seattle.

Her plans take an unexpected turn when Vaughn Barrymore walks into the office. He is cocky, magnetic, and one of the most famous men in the industry, and he makes no secret of his interest in her. He is also exactly the kind of man she has been taught to keep her distance from. Beneath his confidence is a gentler, more complicated side, and she finds herself falling for him anyway.

The relationship has to stay hidden from her family, and that secrecy carries a cost. When her family learns the truth, which the story treats as a matter of when rather than if, she must decide whether she can keep the man she loves and the people closest to her, or whether she will have to give up one for the other.

Kristen Proby, whose books have appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists, wrote this romance. It is the first book in the Single in Seattle series.
