Shielding Riley

Porter "Oz" Reed, a Delta Force operative, knows how much damage words can do. He is not looking for a relationship, but he has no trouble standing outside his apartment looking intimidating while his sweet neighbor, Riley Rogers, finally throws her verbally abusive ex out. Just in case.

At that very moment, Oz's ten-year-old nephew Logan is left on his doorstep, a boy he never knew he had. Riley has just ended things with her ex and wants a break from men, but when her tall, dark and handsome neighbor knocks, panicked about caring for a child, she is happy to help. Oz stood up for her when she needed it, and Logan's story strikes uncomfortably close to her own.

As the two of them work together to help Logan feel safe in his new home, they quickly fall for the boy and for each other. They have barely adjusted to their changed lives when Logan shares a secret that upends everything once more.

Shielding Riley is the fifth book in Susan Stoker's Delta Team Two series. Each book stands alone and ends without a cliffhanger.
