Single Mother

Her daughter is the center of her world and, as far as she can tell, the only family she has left. When she opened a letter and agreed to accept an inheritance, she unknowingly placed both of them in serious danger.

Looking back, she wishes she had pressed the girl about the secretive phone calls that came late at night, and about the afternoon she arrived to collect her from school and the child was nowhere to be found. Since her daughter came across a small heap of bones buried in the garden, she has not said a single word. Now the girl has disappeared.
