Sleeping Warrior

Cruel men take pleasure in dreadful deeds, and women and children bear the cost. Galvan is starting over, or more precisely starting again. Haunted by a past that shapes whatever future he has left, he is determined to step in on the side of what is right, though he has yet to work out exactly what that is.

He spent nearly two years outside Gardez, on the far side of the Seat of the King, and the experience nearly ended his life. Bethesda has returned him to the fight, at least for now. In his absence, someone committed unspeakable crimes against women he loved. By day he builds boats; by night he battles sleep, which drags him back into the same recurring nightmare. He lived through the blast that others did not, and now he is pulled toward ruin, trying to reach the surface before the dark depths decide to keep him.

While he wanders, Galvan becomes the plaything of the serial killer who murdered those women, a killer who seems to relish his torment. Justice has been deferred for far too long, and the people who did vile things have not answered for them. A debt is owed, and the code he lives by still demands payment. Galvan is back, and he may be ready to do something terrible. For readers who want a dark, gripping story to pass a cold, rainy day, this is it.
