Small Pig

Small Pig likes nothing better than sitting in good, soft mud. When the farmer's wife gives his pigpen a thorough cleaning, he runs away. In the city he comes across a new puddle, but it turns out not to be full of mud at all, and Small Pig soon has one big problem on his hands. The story is by Arnold Lobel, who both wrote and illustrated it, and is the creator of the Frog and Toad books. It is a Level 2 title in the I Can Read series, made for children who read on their own but still want a little help.
