About this book
Scale modellers working in 1/72 have enjoyed a strong revival since the mid-1990s. Injection-moulded kits from Revell of Germany helped drive it, followed a few years later by Dragon Models Ltd, which also began producing kits in this scale. Aftermarket companies followed, and accessories once made mainly for larger models now appear routinely in 1/72. New kits and new aftermarket firms keep arriving, and the reference literature has grown alongside them.
The small-scale world has its own places to gather. Most major modelling magazines run articles, news and kit reviews covering it, and Minitracks, a glossy magazine devoted entirely to small scale, ran for several years. Dozens of websites are dedicated to the hobby, and popular modelling sites such as Missing-Links host active small-scale forums and discussion groups.
This book surveys the main aspects of building small-scale armour. Alex Clark shows his own methods for construction, painting, finishing and presentation.
