Songs

Milarepa, the Tibetan saint and poet who lived from 1040 to 1123, is remembered through the devotional songs gathered in this volume. The verses are rooted in Buddhist practice and are presented as sacred texts. The collection also includes a biography of the poet, so readers can follow the life behind the songs.

Milarepa is a central figure in Tibetan Buddhism, and his teachings are still read by practitioners today. Here his poems speak directly about devotion, meditation and the spiritual path, and the biography places them within the events of his life.
