Spell Jar

Credited to Flor Ana, this anthology gathers 80 poems by more than forty contributing poets. It speaks to people who practice witchcraft as well as those just starting out, and it suits the eerie autumn season while remaining welcome in any other month.

The verses cover a broad range of practices: the mixing of substances in alchemy, consulting oracles, reaching toward distant cosmic realms, chanted spells, and potions and tinctures. Other pieces focus on grounding oneself and on the many forms of divinatory practice.
