Spindrift

The story opens amid a violent confrontation inside a grand mansion on the Newport coast. Christy Moreland has returned to Spindrift, the family estate, intent on learning how her father died, a question the household has guarded closely.

Finding that answer means facing Theodora Moreland, the mother-in-law who rules the house with an iron hand. Christy is not sure she has the strength for such a fight, but she cannot walk away from it. Her son has fallen under the influence of the Morelands, and she must break that hold to protect him.

As Christy looks into the strange history of Spindrift and the people who live there, she begins to pull apart a dense web of lies. The deceit is so carefully built that only murder seems able to keep it hidden.
