Tight end Landry Banks is joining the Charleston Condors during a season of rebuilding, and nearly everything is new: the ownership, the head coach, the roster, and the playbook. The one rule that has not changed is his personal line against getting involved with his best friend's younger brother.

Riley Flynn is a rookie quarterback who has worked hard to earn a place in the NFL. He has come to Charleston to prove himself to the league, to his teammates, and most of all to his older brother, who has never truly believed Riley could become a standout. Landry, his brother's closest friend, greets him warmly and offers to share a home with him. Riley has always assumed Landry was straight, yet Landry's frequent glances make him doubt that. Riley's teenage crush on Landry has not faded either, and his stronger feelings for him were never part of his plan.

As the two settle into a working rhythm on the field and an increasingly charged closeness off it, their connection becomes impossible to ignore. Riley is not ready to give up his ambition for love, but Landry seems willing to support him in every way. Perhaps Riley does not have to choose between the two.
