Steel's Edge
About This Book
The Edge is a thin strip of land between two very different worlds. On one side is the Broken, an ordinary modern place where magic survives only in bedtime stories. On the other is the Weird, where aristocratic bluebloods hold power, changelings wander, and the strength of your magic can decide your whole future. Charlotte de Ney was born into the Weird's nobility and has a rare gift for magical healing. Neither has brought her much happiness. When her marriage falls apart, she leaves that world behind and settles in the Edge, hoping to build a quieter life of her own. That plan ends when a badly hurt man is carried to her door and she is asked to treat him. The patient is Richard Mar, a peerless swordsman and the heir to his big, boisterous Edger clan. He is also on a secret mission to destroy the slavers who smuggle people through the Weird. His work has made him some dangerous enemies, and once they find Charlotte, she decides to fight alongside him rather than hide. But the slave trade runs deeper than Richard realized, and even together they may not make it out alive. This is the fourth book in the Edge series, and it can be read as its own adventure of swordplay, danger and a slowly building romance.
