Stone Field

Catrina is a seventeen-year-old with a free spirit, living on her family's sorghum farm in Civil War-era Missouri. Her life changes when she comes across a young man who has lost his memory. The two soon fall deeply in love, a development that shocks her intolerant relatives and the neighbors who watch their family closely.

The novel is a loose reimagining of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights, transposed to the American Midwest during the war. It follows a romance that unfolds against a backdrop of prejudice and social disapproval.
