Summer Games

Raine Chandler-Smith looks slight, but she is far tougher than she appears. She has the skill, timing, and nerve to ride a Thoroughbred through punishing cross-country endurance courses. For Raine, the Olympic Games are the peak of a lifetime spent competing.

Cord Elliot is at the Games for a different reason: he has been assigned to guard them against terrorist attack. The woman who captivates him from the start, gentle on the surface and steel underneath, is the person he is most responsible for protecting.

Both are drawn together by a shared streak of bold courage. As danger gathers around them, they will need every ounce of their determination to defend what they feel for each other. The story was later reworked and released as Remember Summer in 1999.
