Sunburn

Set in Crossmore, a village in Ireland in the early 1990s, the story follows Lucy, who has never quite belonged there. She has strong bonds with her friends, yet she has always sensed she is different from those around her. Marriage and motherhood, the path her community expects, hold no pull for her, even when the proposal comes from Martin, her oldest friend from childhood, who is attractive and devoted to her.
