About this book
It is December 1959, and the Korean War is still raging. Just before Christmas, a Korean-American man named William Yang blows himself up in the middle of a Los Angeles department store in protest of the war. In response, the U.S. government reopens the internment camps used during World War II. Under President Joseph McCarthy, America is tense, paranoid and more dangerous than ever.
Several weeks later, a woman hires Morris Baker, now working as a private investigator, to find her missing husband, Henry Kissinger. He is a State Department consultant working for Vice President Richard Nixon, and he may have a shadowy connection to Yang's alleged terrorist attack.
The investigation leads Baker into another adventure of deceit, intrigue, sex, murder and conspiracy, with the safety of the entire world possibly at stake.
