Super Spinach

Hannah Shaw, a New York Times best-selling author who goes by Kitten Lady, returns with the second book in a chapter book series. This installment follows a kitten who is unwell but longs to become a hero to the other kittens in foster care.

Life in the shelter is dull for Spinach, who resents her solitary cage. Next door, four lively kittens tumble over crinkly balls, dart after ribbons, and scramble up scratching posts, while Spinach can only watch from the edges because of her illness.

Her luck changes when a visit to the veterinarian leaves her healthy and able to leap and romp again. An elderly tomcat at the clinic remarks that anyone getting through the procedure would need to be a superhero, and Spinach decides this must mean she has gained extraordinary abilities. She is taken to Fosterland, where she meets Chickpea, a round little kitten who becomes her sidekick, and receives a superhero costume she is sure gives her her powers. When that costume is taken away, can Spinach still come through for her friends?
